Yarn Along: Mother & Daughter Set

I'm working on another bonnet this week but this time with a fair isle pattern that I designed inlaid. It's to match the fair isle hand warmers that I made for my friend and be a mother-daughter set. I'm really enjoying this knit!

I realized that up to now, everything that I've knitted fair isle has been in the round. Though I don't knit continental on a project with just one color, I do when I'm doing color work. With this project, I had to get the hand of purling continental too, which I found challenging. I'm happy to be developing a new skill!

I haven't had much time for reading this week, it's just been so busy! I did crack Guiding your Catholic Preschooler. And I really like it so far. It has good practical suggestions and it's encouraging and inspiring.

I'm still writing for Real Housekeeping, lately I wrote an article about Making it as a Student Family.

I'll be sharing this on Small Things and Frontier Dreams.

  1. I'm curious about the book- does it lean more or less toward the teaching aspect of "guiding"?

    1. She takes the approach of leading by example and doing things as a family. I have only read a bit but I skimmed the book beforehand and it looks like she has some great ideas :-).

I'd love to hear from you!
