Yarn Along: Afghan, Ferments, and a 2013 Book Summary

I've been having a lot of fun doing the mitered square afghan with scraps that I have lying around. It's an easy but fun knit and my little ones love seeing which color is next. I am knitting in/finishing in the extra color ends and have a plan for the black ones once I get to the next row of squares to prevent a nightmare situation later. The photo above isn't doing justice to the colors, they really are looking well together. When I run out of scraps or need a change of pace, I'm thinking of doing this vest for my son with wool.

My sweet brother got me Fermented for Christmas and it's great. The book is well laid out with nice recipes. I am excited to extend my fermenting into vinegar, carrots, and possibly Kombucha and Kvass soon!

I wrote a post about all of the books that I read in 2013 here.
